THE BEES OF SANT’ORESTE

Stories of artisans in a medieval village on the slopes of Monte Soratte, just outside Rome.

On the slopes of Mount Soratte a family of beekeepers has developed a natural method to fight the Varroa, the terrible mite that exterminates entire populations of bees by decimating the hives. Further up, in the medieval village of Sant’Oreste, Luciano and Loredana lead a group of volunteers involved in the recovery of an ancient baroque church that has been closed for over thirty years. A little further on, in the small workshop of his house, the last survivor of an old dynasty of craftsmen continues to work the ox horn making objects of great beauty. Stories of people living and working at the foot of Monte Soratte, just outside Rome.
